How It Starts
Eveline has always loved dreadlocks, but she thought it would never be possible with her thin, fine hair. But dreads remained on her mind. She decided to book a Consultation with Diane at the Dreadshop Salon to see if it might be possible to braid dreadlock extensions into her thin hair.
Diane took the time to assess Eveline's hair and concluded that although her hair is very thin and fine, she has a fair amount of hair, so it would be possible to braid a beautiful head of Locks of Love. You can imagine how happy Eveline was with this conclusion!
Choosing a Set of Locks of Love
Eveline immediately booked an appointment to have her Synthetic Locks of Love braided in. Enthusiastic as she was, she also chose a beautiful set of dreads during the consultation, with Diane's help. They picked a lovely natural mix of colors to match her own hair color. They chose the Thin Locks of Love Dark Blonde and Sand Storm to lighten the set a bit for the upcoming spring, in back length.
Installing the dreadlock extensions
Eveline was a little nervous during the appointment itself. What would it look like? Most first-time clients are a bit nervous, as dreads create a completely different look.
To avoid having too much weight on Eveline's hair, Diane didn't install the full set of two bundles of double ended and two bundles of single dreads, but used about half a set less. Despite using slightly fewer dreads, the result is still a beautiful, full head of dreads, which Eveline is very happy with; she's so glad she took the plunge!
Due to circumstances, Eveline's hair was thinner than usual for a while, but recently, it's started growing back a bit more, resulting in her hair being two different lengths, with the new growth still considerably shorter than the rest of her hair. To ensure the dreads stayed securely in place, an extra elastic was used to secure the shorter hairs.
More appointments followed
Eveline has already been back twice to have her dreads reinstalled because she likes them so much! In between, she takes out her dreads and gives her hair and scalp a week's rest, and during that week, she misses them terribly!
During her second appointment, she decided to add a touch of color to her set, choosing dreads in Violet by Di and Rusty Pink for a beautiful summer look!
For her third appointment, with autumn approaching and her feeling that purple and pink wouldn't suit the time of year, we added some Go Ginger dreads and some green decorations. Our Locks of Love extensions are perfect for changing your look every season, without having to buy a whole new set!
Eveline has already scheduled her next appointment, because she can't live without this fantastic, easy and beautiful hairstyle!
