Loose human hair, perfect for extending Real Dreads
To extend Real Dreadlocks we use loose Human hair: we first make a dread from your own hair, then we crochet the loose hair into the end of the dread and crochet it into a dread. This is perfect for extending dreads, because every customer has different wishes for her / his dream dreadlocks; the thickness of the dreads are never the same; and every customer has a unique hair color.
Because we use loose human hair instead of ready-made dreads to extend, we can use the right amount of human hair for each dread to extend the dread to the right thickness, which contributes to the natural look.
We mix different shades of human hair together, so that the color of the extension matches your hair color perfectly. Or if you would like slightly lighter extensions, so that a beautiful natural ombré effect is created, we can make sure that we mix the color slightly lighter than your own hair, that is of course also possible!
Personal story from a client
A good example of this is a client who recently came to the salon, Tanja, to have partial real dreads with extensions created. Tanja's hair was getting more and more gray, especially at the front, which took some getting used to for her in terms of look. To spice up her look a bit, she decided to have a few dreads installed in the back of her neck!
Tanja wasn't sure whether she wanted to have Synthetic Locks of Love braided in for a temporary look, or real dreads made from her own hair, so she first booked a Dread Call (Consultation) with Diane, to discuss the options.
Her doubt about the synthetic dreads was that there was no color that matched her graying hair. Tanja wanted a look that was as natural as possible. The Locks of Love are also much longer than her own hair.
That's why she ultimately opted for dreads made from her own hair!
The perfect mix of human hair
Our partial queen Suzanne created 6 real dreads in Tanja's hair, so that Tanja can carefully try out how the dreads suit her. Because some length was lost when dreading her hair, which is usually the case in the bottom row of the hair, she chose to have the dreads extended a bit with human hair, so that the dreads have the same length as her loose hair. That way she can wear her dreads in a bun with the rest of her hair, Tanja basically always wears her hair in a bun, but a simple knot with 2 dreads is also a very cool look!
Suzanne mixed human hair in three different shades: grandma gray, black and platinum.
At the back, Tanja's hair is a bit darker than at the front, so by mixing a tiny bit of black with the grandma gray and platinum hair, it created the perfect blend for her hair color!
The end result looks very natural, the color matches perfectly. So beautiful, exactly what Tanja wanted!
It could well be that Tanja will come back for more dreads, she was so excited about her new look!
