How can I use the Locks of Love Braids?
Of course you know our Locks of Love dreadlocks, and the Locks of Love Braids look a little bit like them, because the top part of the braid is dreaded, before it blends into a soft and stylish braid. Which is perfect when you want to braid them into your hair, which you totally can!
Another option is, when you are going to wear Synthetic dreadlocks to either braid them in between them, or slide them on a Synthetic dread for a little extra dread gorgeousness!
Even when you have Real dreadlocks, you can totally rock these braids by sliding them on your own dreadlock to spice your look up!
How do I take care of my Locks of Love Braids?
Where our Locks of Love dreadlocks have a crocheted texture and are very easy to care for, you have to be a bit more careful with the Locks of Love Braids.
Pay attention if you have decorated your dreadlocks with charms, because the braids can get caught onto them if they have little parts that stick out, this can damage the braids when you try to pull the charm out of it. It can pull hairs out of the braids or pull the braids out of shape.
To keep the braids in good shape, we recommend not to wash the Locks of Love Braids. Therefore it is better to not braid the braids into your hair, but just slide them onto your Synthetic or Real dreadlocks and secure them with elastic, so that you can easily slide them out before you wash your dreads, and after washing when your dreads are dry you can slide them on again.
When you have them braided in your hair in between your dreads, you can wash them, but be aware that the braids can start to look a bit more frizzy after some washes. Click here to watch the tutorial.
The braids will inevitably get a little frizzy when wearing them between Synthetic or Real dreadlocks, regardless whether you have braided them in or slid them on. This is because the dreads have a rougher texture and after a while this will affect the Locks of Love Braids.
So the best way to keep your Locks of Love Braids beautiful longer is to be careful with charms on your dreads, slide them onto your dreads instead of braiding them in, and avoid washing them.
