When Should You Book a Dreadlock Consultation?

When Should You Book a Dreadlock Consultation?

You must have seen the option to book a Consultation on our website, also called a DreadCall, but you might wonder: who is it for and what does it entail?
Let me explain it in this blog!

How can I curl my dreadlocks? Reading When Should You Book a Dreadlock Consultation? 6 minutes Next How do I choose the right Locks of Love set for me?

What do I get when I book a Consultation?

When you book a Consultation you get 30 minutes of undivided personal attention from our dreadlock expert! You get to ask all your questions, voice all of your doubts or concerns, explain the look you have in mind, or if you have no idea where to start or how to choose at all, we’ll just start at the beginning.

Your consultation can either be in the Dreadshop Salon, or via a video call.
Of course our preference goes to a consult in our Salon, as our dreadlock expert can then also feel your hair (not in a creepy way ;)) and get an even better idea of the actual possibilities with your hair. But we understand that if you don’t live in the Netherlands, or you do but it’s still quite a long drive, that a video call will be a great option for you. So in the end, the choice is yours & either way you will receive professional advice.
If you decide to book an appointment after the consultation, half of the price of the Consultation will be subtracted from the total price of the appointment.

Should I even get dreadlocks?

Deciding whether or not to get dreadlocks can be something that you’ve been working out for a while. There can be many factors floating around in your head, like: what will my family and friends think when I get dreads (all that really matters is that YOU like them); will my boss be okay with me wearing dreadlocks (of course they should be, why the hell not! if you ask us ;)).

Or other things like: but how do I even take care of them, is it complicated? Will the dreads feel heavy? How long does my hair need to be to get dreadlocks?
We know it can be overwhelming when you’ve never worn dreadlocks before, so we have a lot of blogs in our Dreadabase, in which you can read everything about how to care for dreadlocks, which products to use etc.

I still have a lot of questions

After reading a lot of blogs you may still have questions: is my hair thick enough to wear the Locks of Love? I want real dreads but I’m not sure if the look I have in mind is possible with my hair... Should I go for a full head or partials? I’m not sure if I should go for temporary dreads or real dreads... What things should be considered when making this choice?

Or maybe you already have real dreadlocks but you want to have them extended and would like to know what options we offer.
Perhaps you have real dreads, but haven’t had maintenance in a long time and your dreads have grown together so you wonder is it’s possible to fix your dreads.
These are perfect questions to discuss in a Consultation!

Appointment new Real dreadlocks

Another reason to book a consultation is when you want to book an appointment to have new Real dreads created from your hair.
For installation of our temporary Locks of Love or dreadlock maintenance, whether it's a full head or partials, you can easily book a direct appointment online.
To create real dreadlocks, a full head or a partial, with extensions or just your own hair; the time needed to create this can vary from a couple of hours to a couple of days. So as you understand, it’s impossible to book a standard appointment for this online.

Besides that, we want to make sure that the look you have in mind is actually possible to create with your hair. Because when creating real dreads, we depend on the hair that you have to crochet dreads from it.
So for example: if you have quite thin and not a lot of hair, but found a photo of your dream (dread)look of a person who had a lot of hair to start with and a different hair texture than yours, the same end results might not be possible with your hair.

So during the consultation, we discuss your wishes and the possibilities, you can show pics of dreads that you like or don’t like, our dreadexpert can take a look at your hair and see what’s possible. And of course you can ask everything you want to know. All this will help our dread expert to help you achieve your dream dreadlook!

You will receive a personalized price estimation

At the end of the consultation you will receive a personalized price and time estimation for an appointment. You can book your appointment afterwards if you wish.
If you want to think about the decision some more, that’s totally fine as well! You are not obligated to book an appointment at Dreadshop after your consultation.

So whether you just have a lot of questions, doubts or concerns, want to know the dreadlock possibilities with your hair, want to get our professional insights, or want to book an appointment to get real dreadlocks, these are all great reasons to book your Consultation!

Note:
Already know that you want to make an appointment in Dreadshop Salon to have our synthetic Locks of Love installed but you don’t know which color, thickness or length of dreads to choose?
