How it started
About 10 years ago Cobey had worn Synthetic dreadlock extensions for a short while. Which she loved! But then life happened and the dreads were forgotten for a while.
Fast forward to today, Cobey got bored with her hair and wanted a change. Dreadlocks entered her mind again. And so it happened that she found Dreadshop on Instagram, had a look at some Synthetic Locks of Love transformations of our clients and liked what she saw.
Also the salon vibe which she could get a taste of in our Instagram stories resonated with her. So she went to our website and booked an appointment in our salon, to have our Synthetic Locks of Love installed!
Choosing a set of Locks of Love at the appointment
As Cobey counted down the days until her appointment, the day finally arrived! Cobey already knew she wanted a full head with dreads and a natural look, and since we have all the colors of the Locks of Love displayed in our salon, the right color to match her hair color was easily found! No need to pick a set of dreads upfront from just some photos online, because we usually have all the dreads in stock!
With help from Diane they decided the Ombré color Sand Storm would be perfect, the top color fits great with Cobey’s hair color, and the lighter bottom color makes the set a bit more fun than having the dreads in just one color. With advice from Diane Cobey chose the Thin Locks of Love in back length. Which is a logical choice, as Cobey doesn't have very thick hair and she didn’t want the length to be too long, because she is not used to having long hair, and wanted it to be comfortable to wear.
The Back length is a beautiful length, as it is still quite long and you can create gorgeous dreadstyles with it, but the length is still a bit more modest compared to the Bum length.
Installing the Synthetic Locks of Love
After they took time to pick a set of dreads, it was time to install them! As Cobey relaxed in the chair with a cup of tea, Diane braided in the dreads and they chatted about life. Of course Diane also explained everything about how to take care of the dreads, (which is quite easy actually ;)) so Cobey can enjoy her dreads to the full! We also always give clients this care flyer to take home, to read again if they forgot anything.
After every install we show some fun ways to style the dreads, in this case a big bun and a half braid. Cobey left the salon happily with her new look!
