Create Dreadlocks with our Henlon Hair
Probably the first thing you think of when seeing the Henlon Hair is creating dreadlocks with them. And our Henlon Hair is perfect for this! Our Synthetic Locks of Love are also created with Henlon hair, so we totally get that you want to get creative yourself and create your own personal dreamy dreadlock extensions!
With our wide color range there are so many color combinations from which to create your perfect set. By mixing different colors together you can even create more shades to work with, and this also gives the dreads some depth, compared to just using 1 color to create your entire set. There are different fun ways to create a beautiful set of dreads using a couple of different colors.
Mixing 2 or 3 shades of blonde or pink hair together for example, will make the color more interesting, you could create a whole set of dreads using the same color blend.
Or you can pick some different colors and create dreads from these solid colors, which, when braided in, will give a beautiful colorful effect with the different colors of dreads.
Using different brown or blonde shades to create a basic set, then making just a couple of dreads in a fun color(blend) can also be fun to spice up your set, while still having a natural looking set.
Our Ombré Henlon is perfect to use when you want a bit more natural top color to blend with your own hair, but have the bottom of the dreads in a fun color.
In our YouTube playlist we show how you can create your own dreadlocks. When using Henlon Hair, a backcombing and crocheting technique works best.
You will need about 5-7 bundles of Henlon hair for a full head of dreads.
Make box braids with Henlon Hair
In this video Renate shows how to make box braids using synthetic hair, she uses Kanekalon hair, but the Henlon hair is even better to use, especially when you leave loose ends on the braids, as the Henlon hair has a smooth and silky texture that leaves a nice soft loose end. Tie the ends of the braids off with a sturdy elastic, as the Henlon hair is less suited to seal with heat/steam. Or, if you don’t like using elastics to tie the braids off, backcomb the hair at the end of the braid a bit, and crochet it so the braid doesn’t come loose.
You can choose how big or small you make the braids, when you make bigger braids make sure to make the sections bigger as well, to prevent burdening your hair with too much weight / volume.
Regardless of the thickness of the braids you will need about 5-7 bundles of Henlon hair for a full head.
Use Henlon Hair to create Dutch Braids
Another fun way to use our Henlon hair is to create Dutch braids! These are quite easy and quick to create, and can last for about 2 weeks. In the video below Renate makes two Dutch braids, but of course you can choose how many braids you make!
Create just one big braid, or maybe even six braids. It’s fun to play around with colours: use a couple of different shades of a color mixed together for some depth in the color for example, as Renate shows in the video, or mix some bright colors for a festive effect. Or just 1 color to make the color really pop, perhaps choose the Ombré Henlon for a subtle color transition.
These are perfect if you want to have a fun hairstyle for a night out, a festival or whatever occasion calls for an amazing hairdo! Renate’s teenage daughter used to create these braids with her friends on each other for parties! Easy and fun!
You can use one bundle of Henlon hair to create two braids. If you want to create thicker braids, use more hair.
Make braids to spice up your Real dreads or Temporary dreads
