How can I wash my Synthetic Dreads?
You have removed your dreads and your hair is nice and clean and all combed out. Time to freshen up your dreadlocks!
You can wash the dreads in the washing machine at a maximum temperature of 86.00°F / 30°C. It’s preferable to use a liquid detergent and avoid softener. Do you have wool dreads? We recommend to hand wash them!
Make sure you put the dreads in a big laundry bag or a pillowcase tied shut. This prevents the dreads from getting in the engine of your washing machine. And this will protect the dreads as well. Let your dreadlocks air dry.

Though it is nice to wash your dreads with a detergent or shampoo after wearing your them a couple of times. When you don’t do this your dreads will become greasy and they can slide out more easily when wearing them. You can consider using a Dread Shampoo.

It’s not possible to dry your dreads in the dryer. Because of the warm air in the dryer, the dreads will be become very puffy, they will come out of the dryer much thicker.
