Human hair for dreadlocks

Do you want to make dreads from human hair? Or do you want to use human hair to extend your real dreads? Our human hair is perfect for this! Together with my supplier, I’ve reviewed all the requirements that human hair for dreadlocks should meet (in my opinion ;)). This makes our product unique and high quality, allowing you to work quickly and efficiently!
Our Human Hair is 100% human hair and ethically sourced.

You'll receive individual loose bundles (bulk), so you won't lose any hair when cutting off a strand. This human hair is the best quality on the market. Because the hair is full and all the same length, you need less hair for a perfect, long-lasting result.
Using high-quality human hair lets you work faster and more efficiently. Your client will also enjoy their dreads for longer, as the hair lasts much longer.

Human hair instead of Synthetic hair

Human hair is perfect to use as extensions for real dreads made from your own hair. In our salon, we almost always use loose human hair to extend dreads.

Why do we use real hair and not synthetic hair? You might argue that synthetic hair is cheaper… but the advantage of using real hair is that it behaves more like your own hair. Real dreadlocks will, especially in the first year of having them, become increasingly more compact, and during this process, loops and bumps can develop. Your dreads can also shrink a bit. This process is similar for dreads extended with human hair (although to a lesser extent, because processed human hair is often a bit coarser than the fine, thin hair many of our clients have).
When you use synthetic hair or synthetic dreads to extend your dreads, you'll notice that the extensions will retain their original appearance. As your own dreads grow and change, this difference becomes more noticeable and looks less natural.

This blog post provides a comprehensive comparison of the pros and cons of using human hair or synthetic hair extensions.

Our selection includes various colors of Human Hair, which you can also mix to create your desired color.

Extend Your Real Dreads with Loose Human Hair

In our salon, we first crochet a dread from your own hair, then we crochet loose human hair onto the end of the dread and crochet it into a dread.
By using loose human hair, we can mix different shades of hair, ensuring the extension color matches your hair color perfectly, and the dreads look as natural as possible with the added extension. It's also possible to customize the thickness of each dread by using loose hair instead of pre-made dreads.

If you buy the hair from us to extend your own dreads, it might be easier to first make dreads from the hair and then crochet them onto your dreads as extensions. That's also possible with the human hair! You can, of course, buy different shades of hair so you can mix them and find a color that perfectly matches your hair color.
Not sure which colors suit your hair color? Send an email to orders@dreadshop.com with some photos of your hair / dreads in daylight, so we can advise you!

Want to make it even easier for yourself? We also offer ready-made Human Hair Dreadlocks that you can use to extend your dreads in six colors and two different thicknesses.

Fuller ends with Human Hair

With our human hair, you can also crochet beautiful, full, loose ends to your dreads. This is also possible if you already have dreads. Fuller ends create a softer, more flowiy look. After washing your dreads, the fuller ends develop a beautiful, natural wave, making them look even more natural.
Fuller ends require a bit more care; to prevent tangling, it’s best to regularly comb through the hair with your fingers.
The lighter the human hair and the more it’s been processed to achieve that color, the drier it will be, so occasional conditioning is needed.
