How do I best prepare for installing Synthetic dreads?

The preparation for installing Synthetic Dreads is very important. Good preparation ensures that you enjoy your Dreadlocks for an extra long time!
In this blog I would like to give you tips about the preparation.

Check whether your own hair is long enough to install Dreads

First of all, it is important that you know for sure whether your own hair is long enough to install Synthetic Dreads. It would be a shame if you go to the appointment and then hear that the Dreads cannot be installed because your hair is too short.
We recommend a minimum length of 3 inch / 8 centimeters. With this length there is enough grip and the Synthetic Dreads can stay in place longer.
Is your hair shorter than 3 inch / 8 cm? Then it is better to wait a little longer. Don't have patience? Then keep in mind that your Dreads can fall out faster. Unfortunately, we cannot put Dreads in hair shorter than 2.4 inch / 6 cm.

Avoid washing your hair with conditioner or conditioner beforehand

Preferably do not wash your hair with conditioner or anti-tangle shampoo beforehand. This makes your hair very smooth so that the dreads can be installed less tightly. Ultimately, this has a negative effect on the wearing time of your dreads and that would be a shame.

Look for some examples of Dreadlooks that you like

To give the Dreadinstaller a good idea of what you want, you can look up some examples of Dreadlooks that you like or love. This gives the Dreadinstaller a clear picture and so you can achieve the perfect Dreadset in a good way.
